THE BOOKING JOURNEY

how a tamam booking worksfrom first tap to receipt

There are two ways into tamam: the app and whatsapp. Both end in the same place, a vetted vendor at your door in a slot you chose at a price you saw first. This page walks the whole journey, what you tap, what you see, what happens on the day, and what is waiting for you the second time.

two ways in, one booking system

tamam is a UAE on-demand services super-app: households and businesses book verified, licensed providers for home, car, health and lifestyle work across all seven emirates. The booking itself happens one of two ways, and they are not two different products. The app and whatsapp put the same vetted vendors, the same AED ranges and the same scheduling in front of you. What changes is who does the typing.

IN THE APP

You drive it. Pick the job, set the address, compare the AED ranges side by side, choose a slot and confirm. Live arrival tracking, in-app chat, in-app payment and a saved receipt all sit in the same place. The tamam app is on iOS and Android, free to download and free to browse.

ON WHATSAPP

A coordinator drives it. Message +971 50 601 1938 with what you need and where, get vendor options with AED ranges back in the chat, confirm the one you want. Useful when the job is unusual, when you would rather talk it through, or when you are simply not near the app.

The app is the primary route, because side-by-side comparison and live tracking are things a screen does better than a chat thread. whatsapp is not a form that goes nowhere, though: it reaches the same vetted network, and it is how jobs and areas the catalogue does not list get arranged.

the app flow, step by step

Seven steps: the first five are the booking, the last two are the day itself and what follows. Once your address and access notes are saved, most of it collapses into a few taps.

  1. choose the jobFour categories — home, car, health, lifestyle — hold 29 core services, and under those sit 156 sub-services. You are not typing 'cleaning' into an empty box; you pick the specific job, because a vendor quoting a defined scope quotes it far more accurately than one guessing at a category.
  2. set the address and the access notesYour address decides which vendors you see: tamam matches on area coverage, not on a citywide list. Add the access detail while you are there — gate code, tower access procedure, lift booking rule, where the technician should park. It saves to your profile, so you enter it once and every later booking carries it.
  3. see the AED rangesVerified vendors covering your area come back with transparent AED ranges against your job description. Several vendors, several ranges, visible before you commit to anything. The short version of the pricing model is that you are reading quotes, not accepting a rate card.
  4. pick the vendor and the tierEach option carries a tier — value, mid or premium — alongside the vendor profile, their coverage of your area, and ratings from previous customers. Every vendor in that list cleared a municipality trade licence check and an insurance check before being listed, so you are comparing businesses that passed the same bar.
  5. choose the slot and confirmPick the day and window that suits, then confirm. You get written confirmation of the scope and the range before anyone is dispatched. Nothing is charged at this point.
  6. track arrival on the dayThe technician appears in the app with a name, ID-tagged to the vendor business you booked, so you know who is coming before they knock. You follow the arrival live and use in-app chat if something needs saying. No 'where are you?' phone calls.
  7. pay in-app, then rebookPayment happens in the app once the job is done, and the receipt is saved to your account. The vendor stays on your profile, so the same crew for the same job next time is a couple of taps.
Steps one to three cost nothing. The app is free to download and free to browse, so you can pick a job, drop in your address and read what several verified vendors would charge without committing to any of them. You only pay when you book a job.

what the price screen actually shows

Most UAE on-demand service apps post a single fixed rate per service — take it or leave it. tamam does not. Pricing appears as AED ranges from multiple competing vendors, because the same job genuinely costs different amounts depending on who does it, how big it is, and which tier you want. A range is the honest shape of that answer; one figure is a rounding of it.

one fixed price? never. you see what several verified vendors charge for your exact job, then decide.

These are the bands you are reading on that screen, with the typical time a vendor spends on site.

jobtypical AED rangeon site
cleaningAED 35–90 per hour2–6 hours
ac maintenanceAED 150–7001–3 hours

oil changeAED 150–50030–60 min
doctor at homeAED 300–80030–45 min
laundryAED 30–15024–48 hours
Treat these as guide bands. The vendor you select confirms the exact price in-app before the job begins. Parts and consumables, where they apply, are quoted separately and approved by you first.

Alongside each range sits a tier, which is the biggest lever you control on the day you book.

valueThe lower end of the band. Sensible for straightforward, well-defined jobs where the scope is obvious and you mainly want it done properly.
midEstablished crews with quick slots. The middle of most ranges describes this tier, and it is the pick most residents make.
premiumSpecialist equipment, larger teams, tighter scheduling or heavier scope. The top of the band, chosen when the job justifies it.

What else moves you within a band: property type (apartment, villa, office), job complexity, urgency, and any add-ons you select. None of it arrives as a surprise at the door, because you see each vendor's number against your own job description before you choose.

scheduling, access and the detail that saves an hour

The part of a service booking that goes wrong is rarely the work. It is coordination: the technician at the wrong gate, the service lift not booked, the visitor parking permit nobody mentioned. tamam handles that by asking once and remembering.

The context of the visit varies by service, and the app books all of them: at-home, at-office, at-hotel, mobile, roadside, and pickup-and-delivery. A doctor at home visit can be booked to a hotel room. Roadside assistance goes to wherever the car stopped. Laundry is a collection and a return, not a visit at all.

on the day

From the moment the slot opens, here is the booking from your side of it.

  1. The technician shows in the app with a name, tagged to the vendor business you chose. That business has cleared licence and insurance checks, so the person at the door is not an anonymous number from a listings site.
  2. You follow the arrival live rather than ringing to ask where they are. If the window moves, it moves in the app.
  3. On arrival the vendor confirms the scope against what you booked. If the job is heavier than described, the revised figure is quoted and approved by you before work continues — not added to a total afterwards.
  4. In-app chat covers the small things: one more room, a part that needs collecting, a door to keep shut because of a cat.
  5. The job is completed and recorded against that vendor and that address, which is what makes the next booking short.
Health bookings run slightly differently. Nursing, IV therapy, blood tests and home doctor visits are delivered by DHA and DoH licensed clinicians, and the clinician carries out a suitability check before anything is administered. Nothing on tamam is medical advice, and clinical scope decisions stay with the licensed professional in the room.

paying, receipts and the second booking

Payment is in-app, after the job, with a receipt saved to your account. There is no call-out fee for being shown prices, and nothing is taken while you are still comparing vendors. Settle up in the app when the work is finished, and tip if you want to.

The second booking is where that saved state earns its keep. Your address, access notes and the vendor you liked are already on the profile, so repeating the job is a couple of taps rather than a fresh search. Same-vendor rebook is available on request in the app, and if that vendor cannot take the slot you want, the full comparison screen is one tap behind it.

booking on whatsapp instead

Some jobs do not fit an app form, and some people would rather not use one. whatsapp is a full booking channel on +971 50 601 1938, handled by a coordinator rather than an automated menu.

  1. Message what you need and where. One line is enough: the job, the area, roughly when.
  2. A coordinator matches it to vendors covering your area, from the same vetted network the app uses.
  3. Vendor options come back in the chat with AED ranges. You approve the range before anyone is dispatched.
  4. The arrival window is confirmed to you in writing.
  5. Payment is settled in-app, or arranged through support if that suits you better.
whatsapp is also the route for anything the catalogue does not carry. If a service or an area is not listed in-app, message and it gets arranged manually through the same vetted vendors. Unusual scope is quoted individually, still before you commit.

the same flow across 686 areas

Vendor matching happens by area rather than by emirate, which is why the coverage list is so granular. tamam covers 686 named areas and communities across all seven emirates, and the vendors you are shown are the ones who actually work yours.

Each of those areas has its own page for every service, so cleaning in Dubai Marina and ac maintenance in Khalifa City carry the ranges, durations and access realities that apply there rather than a national average. The booking flow itself is identical whichever page you arrive on. Check the full coverage list, or browse every area.

Questions people ask about booking

How does tamam work, in one paragraph?

You describe the job in the app or in a whatsapp message. Verified vendors covering your area come back with transparent AED ranges. You choose the vendor and the tier that suits, confirm the slot, track arrival in-app on the day, and pay in-app with a receipt saved to your account. Next time, the same vendor is a couple of taps away.

Do I have to use the app to book?

No. whatsapp on +971 50 601 1938 is a full booking channel, not a contact form. Send what you need and where, a coordinator matches vendors from the same vetted network, and the AED ranges come back in the chat for you to approve. The app is still the better route if you want to compare options yourself and track arrival live.

Does it cost anything to look at prices?

No. tamam is free to download and free to browse. You can pick a job, set your address and read what several verified vendors would charge without paying anything. You only pay when you book a job.

Why is the price a range instead of one number?

Because several vendors quote the same job and you choose between them. The range covers the value, mid and premium tiers, plus the things that genuinely move a price: property type, job complexity, urgency and any parts involved. The range narrows to an actual figure once a vendor sees the scope, and you approve that figure before work starts.

What happens if the job turns out bigger than I described?

The vendor confirms scope on arrival. If it is heavier than what you booked, the revised number is quoted to you and approved before work continues. Parts and consumables, where they apply, are quoted separately and approved by you first rather than appearing on a total afterwards.

Who actually turns up at the door?

A technician from the vendor business you selected, showing in the app with a name and tagged to that business. Every vendor on tamam has a trade licence verified with the relevant municipality, checked insurance, and technicians who are ID-tagged in the app. Vendors who let their licence or insurance lapse come off the platform.

My area or my exact job is not listed. Now what?

Message tamam on whatsapp. If a service or an area is not listed in-app, a coordinator arranges a vendor through the same vetted network manually, and unusual scope is quoted individually before you commit to it.

How do I get the same vendor again?

Same-vendor rebook is available on request in the tamam app. Your address, access notes and previous vendor are stored on the profile, so repeating a job is a couple of taps. If that vendor cannot take the slot you want, the full comparison screen is one tap behind it.

How long does it take to book?

The first booking takes a few minutes, mostly spent entering the address and access notes. After that they are saved, and later bookings are essentially job, slot, confirm. Time on site is a separate matter and varies by service, from 15 to 30 minutes for a blood test up to a few days for a full painting job.
