ABU DHABI COVERAGE

services in abu dhabithe island, the islands, and everything west

Abu Dhabi is not one place to work in. It is an island city on a numbered street grid, a ring of newer island communities at Reem, Maryah, Saadiyat and Yas, a mainland villa belt that starts at Khalifa City, an inland city at Al Ain about 150 km away, and a string of towns out through Al Dhafra. tamam lists 153 areas across all of it, with the same 29 services and the same AED bands in every one.

what tamam covers in abu dhabi

153 Abu Dhabi areas are listed on tamam — fewer than Dubai's 366, spread over vastly more ground. That is the first thing to understand about booking anything here: two addresses that both say Abu Dhabi can be a two-hour drive apart. Of the 153, 119 are primarily residential, 32 are mixed use, and exactly two are hospitality-led: Hudayriyat Island and Ghantoot.

the islandThe original city: a grid of numbered streets lined with mid-rise apartment blocks, ministries and older villas, wrapped by the Corniche. Al Khalidiyah, Al Bateen, Al Mushrif, Hamdan Street, Tourist Club Area and Mina Zayed all appear separately.
reem and maryahHigh-rise, recent, a bridge from the centre. Al Reem Island is listed several times over — Shams Abu Dhabi, Najmat Abu Dhabi, Marina Square, Gate Towers — because a tower address and a district address are not the same instruction. Al Maryah Island is the business island next door.
saadiyatLow-density by design: beachfront villas, mid-rise apartments and the cultural district. Saadiyat Beach, Mamsha Al Saadiyat, Hidd Al Saadiyat and Saadiyat Lagoons are separate entries.
yasVilla phases and apartments handed over in waves around the golf and racing side of the island: Yas Acres, West Yas, Mayan, Water's Edge, Ansam, Yas Bay. Note that Baniyas, despite the name, is out on the mainland.
the mainland beltWhere most of the emirate's villas actually are: Khalifa City (A, B and C listed too), Shakhbout City, Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Al Shamkha, Al Reef, Al Raha Gardens, Masdar City and the workshop-and-housing belt at Mussafah.
al ain and al dhafraAl Ain is a separate inland city with its own listed neighbourhoods — Al Jimi, Asharej, Hili, Zakher, Falaj Hazzaa. West of the capital sit Madinat Zayed, Ghayathi, Ruwais and Liwa.
One name to watch when you set an address: Madinat Zayed is two different places in this emirate. There is the shopping district in the middle of the island, and there is the Al Dhafra town roughly 150 km west. Both are listed. Choosing the wrong one is not a typo, it is a day.

the housing mix and what it does to a job

A booking on Hamdan Street and a booking in Yas Acres share the service name and almost nothing else: different access, different equipment, different amount of time lost before anyone starts working.

older island apartmentMid-rise blocks on the numbered grid, usually without a loading bay, the resident lift doing all the work and kerbside parking under permit. Addresses come by street and landmark more often than by plot. Jobs skew to apartment cleaning, sofa and mattress work, and the leak and DB-board repairs that older risers and boards generate.
tower on reem or maryahService lift booking windows, a building management pass, a loading bay with a time slot, a basement with a height barrier. Written access notes earn their keep here more than anywhere else in the emirate. Window cleaning, move-in and move-out cleans and mobile car care in the parking bay are the natural fits.
saadiyat or yas villaPrivate plot, garden, driveway and frequently a pool — the combination that unlocks what an apartment cannot use at all: pool maintenance, gardening, exterior painting, and a full detail on your own driveway rather than a shared basement.
mainland villaKhalifa City, Shakhbout City, MBZ City, Al Shamkha: larger plots, gates, households often multi-generational. Own split or ducted AC rather than a central plant, which turns an AC booking from duct work into servicing and gas.
al ain houseLow-rise, garden-heavy, and hotter inland than the coast. Irrigation repair, tree trimming and lawn maintenance are ordinary bookings here in a way they are not on Reem, and AC load runs harder for longer.
al dhafra townRuwais, Madinat Zayed, Ghayathi and Liwa are employer-built towns and oasis settlements, not suburbs. Coverage there is a different vendor list from the island's, because nobody drives 240 km for a 40-minute job and back.

It is also why the catalogue splits things that sound like one service. Cleaning lists villa cleaning and apartment cleaning separately, and painting does the same. In an emirate with this even a split between the two, that distinction does real work.

The difference between a smooth visit and a wasted afternoon in Abu Dhabi is usually decided before anyone picks up a tool, at a gate, a lift or a barrier.

what booking a service here actually involves

The mechanics are the same everywhere tamam operates: describe the job, several verified vendors who cover your address come back with AED ranges, you pick one. What is specific to Abu Dhabi is what goes in the address field and what goes in the access note.

  1. set the address, then the access noteOn the island, buildings are identified by street and landmark as often as by plot number, and flat numbering in the older blocks is not obvious from the kerb. On Reem or Al Maryah the useful detail is the tower, the floor, the entrance and whether the service lift needs booking. In Al Reef or Al Raha Gardens it is the gate and the villa number. Access notes save to your profile, so you write them once.
  2. vendors covering your area respondCoverage is matched area by area, not emirate-wide. A vendor working Al Khalidiyah is not automatically the one who works Al Ain, and Ghayathi returns a different shortlist again. That is the point of listing 153 areas separately instead of one Abu Dhabi checkbox.
  3. compare AED ranges side by sideValue, mid and premium against the same job description. Vetting does not change between tiers — every listed vendor has cleared a municipality trade licence and insurance check — so what you are comparing is crew, products and price.
  4. pick a window that survives the crossingEverything on the island is reached over one of three main road crossings, with the mainland belt on the far side of all of them; Between The Bridges is literally named for two. A first-thing slot and a mid-morning slot are not the same job for a vendor coming from Mussafah, so say if your window is flexible.
  5. track arrival and talk in the appThe technician is ID-tagged and visible in the app before reaching the gate, which matters in communities where security wants a name in advance.
  6. pay in-app, keep the vendorPayment and receipt stay in the app, and the vendor is saved to your profile with your access notes. The second booking in the same tower is much faster than the first.

what abu dhabi households book, and why

Rather than guess at demand, look at what the catalogue offers and which parts of it the emirate's housing stock actually makes usable. All 29 services and 156 sub-services are available in every one of the 153 areas — but a fair number of them only make sense in some of them.

Cleaning is the widest entry point, AED 35–90 per hour over a typical 2–6 hour visit. Of its ten sub-services, the pair Abu Dhabi leans on hardest are move-in cleaning and move-out cleaning: a large share of households here sit on employer-linked or annual leases, so a handover is a fixed dated event rather than a flexible weekend, and the clean has to land inside it. Packing and moving at AED 800–5000 arrives in the same conversation, often as an island flat to mainland villa move.

AC maintenance, AED 150–700, splits along the housing line. Towers on Reem and Al Raha Beach generally run on central cooling, so a resident books duct cleaning, coil cleaning or a servicing visit. A villa in Khalifa City or Al Shamkha with its own units is where gas refill comes up, and inland at Al Ain the summer load runs heavier still.

Pool maintenance is the clearest case of a service the map decides for you: the only band quoted monthly, AED 300–900, and only relevant where private pools exist — Hidd Al Saadiyat, Golf Gardens, Yas Acres, Al Raha Gardens. Gardening at AED 150–800 follows the same footprint, irrigation repair and tree trimming carrying real weight in Al Ain. Handyman and smart home cluster around handover instead: Yas, Saadiyat Lagoons, Bloom Living and Alreeman hand over in phases, and a newly collected villa wants curtain rails, brackets and shelving, then a doorbell camera at a gate that did not have one.

Car services are shaped by where the car sleeps. A tower resident on Reem books mobile car wash to the parking bay, and because many basements restrict water use, waterless and steam washes exist as separate sub-services for exactly that reason. A villa driveway is what makes a 3–8 hour detail practical, and roadside assistance covers the long inter-city runs this emirate produces more of than any other.

Health follows the household. Nursing at AED 80–200 per hour covers elderly care and post-surgery care, an ordinary booking in the multi-generational villa households of the mainland belt and Al Ain. Doctor at home includes a hotel visit sub-service, which is what the two hospitality-led areas and the visitor traffic around Yas and Saadiyat generate; attending clinicians are DHA or DoH licensed and nothing here is medical advice. In lifestyle, laundry pickup suits a tower with no drying space, mobile pet grooming the villa communities where a van can park at the door.

what it costs in abu dhabi

The published bands do not change by emirate. AED 150–700 for AC maintenance is the same figure on an Al Khalidiyah page as on an Al Ain one: it describes the service, not a local rate card. What changes between areas is which verified vendors cover them and what they quote once they have seen the job.

Treat these as guide bands. The vendor you select confirms the exact price in-app before the job begins, and parts or consumables are quoted separately and approved by you first.

Inside those bands the Abu Dhabi-specific movers are property type and access. Villa against apartment is the biggest, and this emirate has an unusually even split of the two, so the same service lands at opposite ends of its range depending on which side of a bridge you live. Access is the second: a tower with a booked service lift and a loading bay slot costs a vendor time that a Khalifa City driveway does not.

distance, bridges and the working day

Abu Dhabi is the largest emirate by area, and unlike anywhere else that fact shows up in your booking. Coverage here is not a formality; it is the mechanism.

island to Madinat Zayed, Al Dhafraabout 150 km west
island to Liwaover 200 km south west
island to Ruwaisroughly 240 km

None of that changes the published AED band. It changes which vendors appear when you enter an address, and how a window gets chosen. A 40-minute oil change is an errand in Al Mushrif and a half-day commitment for anyone driving to Ghayathi to do it, so those two addresses do not return the same shortlist. Al Ain works as its own market with its own vendors, which is why its neighbourhoods are listed individually rather than folded into the capital.

On the island the constraint is smaller and different: the crossings, and the morning direction of travel. For a vendor coming from Mussafah or Khalifa City to Al Markaziyah, the first slot of the day and a mid-morning slot are not equivalent. Naming the windows that work for you beats asking for the earliest available.

If your Abu Dhabi community, compound or building is not listed in-app — and with an emirate this size that happens — whatsapp tamam and a vendor can usually be arranged through the same vetted network.

how to book

Two ways in, the same vetted vendors behind both. The app is free to download and free to browse: every service, every band and which vendors cover your Abu Dhabi address, without committing to anything.

  1. Open the app or send a whatsapp message, and pick the specific sub-service — deep cleaning rather than cleaning, duct cleaning rather than AC.
  2. Set the address and the access notes: tower and lift on Reem, gate and villa number in Al Reef, street and landmark on the island grid.
  3. Read the AED ranges the vendors covering that area send back against your description.
  4. Choose the tier, confirm the slot, track arrival with an ID-tagged technician.
  5. Pay in-app with the receipt saved, and keep the vendor on your profile.

The pricing page covers the model in more detail, how it works covers the flow end to end, the app page explains what tamam is, and coverage shows all 686 areas across the seven emirates.

abu dhabi questions people ask

Which Abu Dhabi areas does tamam cover?

153 named areas: the island grid from Al Khalidiyah to Tourist Club Area, the islands at Reem, Maryah, Saadiyat and Yas, the mainland belt through Khalifa City, MBZ City and Al Shamkha, plus Al Ain and the Al Dhafra towns. Of the 153, 119 are primarily residential and two are hospitality-led.

Does tamam cover Al Ain?

Yes, as its own set of neighbourhoods rather than an extension of the capital — Al Jimi, Asharej, Hili, Zakher, Falaj Hazzaa, Al Muwaiji and more. Al Ain is roughly 150 km inland, so vendors are matched to those areas specifically, and garden work, irrigation repair and AC servicing carry more weight there than in a coastal tower.

Can I book in Ruwais, Madinat Zayed, Ghayathi or Liwa?

All four are listed. They sit well west and south of the capital — Ruwais roughly 240 km away, Liwa over 200 km — so the vendors covering them are a different set from the island's, and it is worth being flexible on the window. If a specific Al Dhafra address is not listed in-app, whatsapp tamam and a vendor can usually be arranged through the same vetted network.

I live in a tower on Al Reem Island. What should I put in the booking?

The tower name, the floor, the entrance to use, and whether the service lift has to be booked or the loading bay has a time slot. Reem is listed by tower and district for exactly this reason — Marina Square, Gate Towers and Shams Abu Dhabi are separate entries. Those notes save to your profile and carry over to the next booking.

Is villa cleaning priced differently from apartment cleaning in Abu Dhabi?

The band is the same, AED 35–90 per hour, because cleaning is priced by the hour rather than by the property. What differs is the hours: a visit typically runs 2–6 hours, and a villa in Yas Acres sits at the top of that while a one-bedroom on the island grid sits at the bottom. Villa cleaning and apartment cleaning are listed separately so the vendor quotes the right shape of job.

Can a car service come to my building's basement in Abu Dhabi?

Mobile car care comes to where the car is parked, and in tower parking that usually means a waterless or steam wash, since many basements restrict water use and have height barriers. A 3–8 hour detail is far easier on a villa driveway in Khalifa City or Al Raha Gardens. Mention the parking situation when you book.

Do services cost more in Abu Dhabi than in other emirates?

No. The published AED bands are catalogue figures, identical on every area page in all seven emirates. What varies is the quote, which reflects property type, scope, access and the tier you choose — and in this emirate the villa-versus-apartment split does more of that work than the address does.

Is tamam connected to TAMM, the Abu Dhabi government platform?

No. TAMM is the Abu Dhabi Government's platform for government services and transactions. tamam is a private company, spelled differently, that books licensed private-sector vendors. There is no affiliation between them.

My Abu Dhabi community is not in the app. What now?

Message tamam on whatsapp at +971 50 601 1938 with the address and the job. A coordinator arranges a vendor from the same vetted network and sends back AED ranges to approve before anyone is dispatched. In an emirate this size, that route also covers unusual jobs and addresses out in Al Dhafra.
