Done wrong, the gas vents, the lines take in moisture, and the reinstalled unit needs a vacuum, leak test and regas. The honest answer is to split the load: flat-pack furniture, kitchenware and books tolerate ambient storage fine; solid wood, upholstery, artwork, instruments and electronics justify the controlled room. Ask where the facility is and whether you can visit; vaults loaded once and moved unbroken are safer than loose items restacked three times.
