Power does not follow the tenancy contract automatically. In Dubai you activate a DEWA account against your Ejari; in Abu Dhabi it is ADDC (or AADC in Al Ain) against your Tawtheeq; Sharjah runs through SEWA; and Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah are served by Etihad Water and Electricity.
