Continuity is worth paying a modest premium for. Elderly patients, especially those with dementia or limited mobility, do measurably better with a consistent face, and families spend less time re-explaining routines. Ask every provider two questions: who is the named backup when the primary nurse is off, and what is the replacement process if the match does not work.
