Dust season also loads the car's filtration. Ask the inspector to pull the engine air filter and the cabin filter: a filter caked solid suggests skipped servicing, and fine dust ingestion past a cheap or badly seated filter is a known killer of mass-airflow sensors and turbochargers in the Gulf.
