Glutathione is an antioxidant made naturally in the body. In the UAE, glutathione drips are heavily marketed for 'glow', detox and skin brightening. Regulators in several countries have warned that injectable glutathione is not approved for skin lightening and that high doses carry risks, so Tamam does not repeat lightening claims. Some people still choose it as a wellness drip after a clinician's assessment.
What it typically contains
- Glutathione — dose varies widely; ask for the exact amount.
- Vitamin C — commonly paired in the same session or as a separate step.
- Fluid base or slow push — depending on the clinic's protocol.
Formulations vary by provider. The final ingredients, doses and infusion rate are decided by the licensed clinician after assessing you, and may differ from this list.
Who usually asks for it
- Adults interested in antioxidant wellness drips.
- People preparing for an event who already use other skin treatments.
- Clients asking about combination beauty drips.
Who should not have it, or must check with a doctor first
- Asthma: there are reports of bronchospasm with some glutathione products.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: not enough safety data.
- Be wary of any provider promising skin lightening or very high doses on a frequent schedule.
What happens at the appointment
After history and vital signs, glutathione is either added to a bag or given slowly. Ask the provider where their product comes from and whether it is licensed for use in the UAE.
- You send the request on WhatsApp or in the app with your address, preferred time and any health conditions.
- A licensed clinician screens you: medical history, medicines, allergies and vital signs. They can decline or refer you elsewhere.
- If suitable, a nurse places a small cannula and stays with you for the whole infusion, adjusting the rate if needed.
- The cannula is removed, the site is dressed, and you are told what to watch for afterwards.
How often do people have it?
Packages of many sessions are common in marketing. Ask the clinician whether a repeat is needed at all and what dose is reasonable for you.
What affects the price
- Dose and product source.
- Combination with vitamin C or other antioxidants.
- Number of sessions in a package.
- Home, hotel or spa-style setting.
Tamam does not publish fixed prices for medical services. The vendor confirms the cost for your exact request before you agree to anything.
Who is allowed to give IV drips in the UAE
IV therapy is a medical procedure. In the UAE it must be given by a licensed doctor or nurse working for a licensed healthcare facility, after an assessment. In Dubai, providers are licensed by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), or by the Dubai Healthcare City Authority for facilities in Dubai Healthcare City. In Abu Dhabi, including Al Ain, the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) regulates providers. In Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, private providers operate under the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) licensing framework. You can ask the nurse for their licence details at any time.
