An 'energy' drip is a marketing category rather than a medical one. Most UAE providers build it from B vitamins, some amino acids and fluids, sometimes with vitamin C or carnitine. People ask for it during demanding work weeks, before events or after poor sleep. It cannot replace sleep, food or treatment of an underlying cause of fatigue, and a clinician should ask why you feel tired before starting.
What it typically contains
- B-complex and B12 — the most common core ingredients.
- Amino acids such as taurine or L-carnitine — included by some clinics; formulations vary widely.
- Vitamin C — an occasional addition.
- Fluid base — saline or a balanced solution.
Formulations vary by provider. The final ingredients, doses and infusion rate are decided by the licensed clinician after assessing you, and may differ from this list.
Who usually asks for it
- Professionals during intense project or travel periods.
- Event organisers and performers before long days.
- People who have had a few nights of poor sleep and want to feel more alert.
Who should not have it, or must check with a doctor first
- Persistent fatigue lasting weeks should be investigated by a doctor; it can signal anaemia, thyroid problems, diabetes or depression.
- Heart conditions, kidney disease and any stimulant medicines must be disclosed.
- Avoid combining with large amounts of caffeine or energy drinks on the same day.
What happens at the appointment
Assessment includes questions about sleep, caffeine, medicines and how long the tiredness has lasted. The drip itself is usually moderate in length; many people book it at the office or at home before a long day.
- You send the request on WhatsApp or in the app with your address, preferred time and any health conditions.
- A licensed clinician screens you: medical history, medicines, allergies and vital signs. They can decline or refer you elsewhere.
- If suitable, a nurse places a small cannula and stays with you for the whole infusion, adjusting the rate if needed.
- The cannula is removed, the site is dressed, and you are told what to watch for afterwards.
How often do people have it?
Occasional use is typical. If you feel you need it every week, the better step is a medical review and perhaps blood tests.
What affects the price
- Which amino acids and vitamins the provider includes.
- Office visits during working hours versus home visits.
- Packages offered for repeat sessions.
- Optional blood tests to investigate fatigue.

Who is allowed to give IV drips in the UAE
IV therapy is a medical procedure. In the UAE it must be given by a licensed doctor or nurse working for a licensed healthcare facility, after an assessment. In Dubai, providers are licensed by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), or by the Dubai Healthcare City Authority for facilities in Dubai Healthcare City. In Abu Dhabi, including Al Ain, the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) regulates providers. In Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, private providers operate under the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) licensing framework. You can ask the nurse for their licence details at any time.

Frequently asked questions
Will I feel an instant boost?
Experiences vary and many people feel no dramatic change. Treat claims of instant energy with caution.
Can I have it at my office?
Yes, many vendors visit offices. You need a private space with a chair where you can sit for the duration.
Is it the same as NAD+?
No. NAD+ is a different molecule with a much slower infusion and a different screening process.
